Yes. You can use any online money transfer service which allows you to send money to Sri Lanka. We provide the bank details of the fundriasers and you can use them to send your donations directly to the beneficiary. (We recommend Xoom(a PayPal service) and Wise(Transferwise) for sending money to Sri Lanka from any country.
You can submit stories about yourself, someone else, common issues and volunteering opportunities. Visit "Request" page to see instances in which you can request fundraisers.
VIP (Paid) members have access to some exclusive features such as posting pictures to Photo Reel and creating their own Groups. They also get to keep all the earned badges without expiring.
Non-VIP(Free) members can also earn badges, but will have to submit proof documents of recent volunteering or donations to keep them from expiring. Free membership allows you to participate in group discussions, but will not allow to create your own groups or post to the Photo Reel.
We verify the details of all stories by contacting relavent offices/organizations (as an example, the patient's hospital in a medical emergency story) and/or with proof documents(eg: Doctor's report).
As for volunteering, we contact the organizers to verify information and contact relavent authorities or experts to confirm that all projects are legitimate.
Once you make a donation or volunteer to a project, you can send us photographic or document proof so that we can add point to your profile. Badges will be granted when the relavent requirements are met. It's up to you to decide whether to apply for a badge or not. Find our more here.
