*We do not charge any fee from you or the fundraiser. We give you the bank details of the fundriaser and you can donate to them directly using any of our suggested methods or any other preferred method.
 
*Parithyaga.org publishes volunteering opportunities and fundraiser stories only after fact checking and verifying legitimacy. You can trust what you read and be a part of them without hesitating.
 
*We offer you the utility of doing good deeds and have a reward(badge) system to recognize you. You can create a public profile to showcase your good deeds.
 
*You can be a part of our community sharing ideas and discussing about new topics within the website.

Can I use my credit/debit card to donate online?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can use any online money transfer service which allows you to send money to Sri Lanka. We provide the bank details of the fundriasers and you can use them to send your donations directly to the beneficiary. (We recommend Xoom(a PayPal service) and Wise(Transferwise) for sending money to Sri Lanka from any country.

Can I submit a story about something I saw or know of, or only about myself?"

Accepted Answer

You can submit stories about yourself, someone else, common issues and volunteering opportunities. Visit "Request" page to see instances in which you can request fundraisers.

Question 5

Free membership vs VIP membership. What's the difference?

Accepted Answer

VIP (Paid) members have access to some exclusive features such as posting pictures to Photo Reel and creating their own Groups. They also get to keep all the earned badges without expiring.
 
Non-VIP(Free) members can also earn badges, but will have to submit proof documents of recent volunteering or donations to keep them from expiring. Free membership allows you to participate in group discussions, but will not allow to create your own groups or post to the Photo Reel.

Question 6

How does Parithyaga make sure stories and volunteering projects are legitimate?

Accepted Answer

We verify the details of all stories by contacting relavent offices/organizations (as an example, the patient's hospital in a medical emergency story) and/or with proof documents(eg: Doctor's report).
 
As for volunteering, we contact the organizers to verify information and contact relavent authorities or experts to confirm that all projects are legitimate.

Should I create an account on Parithyaga.org?

Accepted Answer

It's not mandatory, but you are most welcome to do so. You will be able to follow your friends, earn badges to show off, engage in group discussions in the community and even share photos.

How do I earn badges for my profile?

Accepted Answer

Once you make a donation or volunteer to a project, you can send us photographic or document proof so that we can add point to your profile. Badges will be granted when the relavent requirements are met. It's up to you to decide whether to apply for a badge or not. Find our more here.
