Savina Dissanayake, a ninth grader in Iddamalgoda, Eheliyagoda develops a leg ailment. When she went to the Avissawella Hospital for treatment, she was told that there's a bone fracture near her knee.
However she was again hospitalized, to Embilipitiya Hospital this time because of a swollen right knee. There she was transferred from Embilipitiya Hospital to Colombo National Hospital.
An MRI scan of her knee reveals that she has cancer.
Doctors have said that the cancerous growth can be removed and the bone grafted to bring her back to her original condition. But there is not much time left for that.
We all need to help her recover quickly so that she can have her smile forever.
Savina's mother and father are poor and the cost of treatment is very difficult to bear.
