  • Help Ishara look after his sick mother.

Ishara's mother's leg was injured and amputated near the knee and she could not heal the wounds due to high blood sugar levels. As a result, she can no longer do anything on her own. Lets see Ishara's story: "We have to face economic problems because I can not even go to work. I can't leave my mother alone at home and go to work because I have to do all my mother's chores and homework alone. On the other hand, even if someone is hired to do the mother's work, they do not like to touch the mother's faeces and urine and wash her clothes like that. They can't take her to the toilet and bathe her. I also have to remove the stool by hand and even wash it when she is in pain as she is unable to pass stool even though she needs to defecate because of the medication. My mother's hand was difficult to move around due to injections and saline injections at the hospital. Sugar causes urinary incontinence from time to time so the bed pan is used so that she has to be lifted slightly upwards while urinating on the bed pan. Pampering only at night. But I do not know what to do. I have to take care of her. I have to do all the work alone. As a result, I find myself in a tiring situation due to overwork and busy schedule. We are also in a rented house, so we have to pay rent. It also costs Rs. 500 per day for a three-wheeler to take my mother to the hospital for clinic and exercise and physical therapy. Mother's food and medicine can not be stored without a refrigerator, it is easier to move her around in a wheelchair. Mom sleeps on the floor with the mattress. Because the house we were in before our current stay was until June 20. We were asked for rent that month by the landlord. We could not pay so they kept our bed, closet and chair until the electricity bill and the rent were paid; until the money is given. Therefore, those who understand the plight of me and my mother and want to help us in any way we can, can come to our house or call us to see our plight. I hope you understand the situation we are in. thank you !" Parithyaga.org does not donate to or raise funds for any story published on this website. his fundraiser is inactive. Requirements mentioned may have been met or changed: Chatura is the father of the children in this picture. He has been on sickbed for a year and a half. A tree fell on him and both his legs are broken. His wife can't go to work because she is breastfeeding her children and having no one to take care of them. Chathura is now going without any medication for several months as he is not able to earn any money. His family survives by eating jackfruit from a nearby tree for all three meals on certain days. Chatura is not asking for money to buy food or medicine, he needs your help to start a small business selling brooms they make by hand so that he can start looking after his family himself. They will be very grateful if you can give even as little as Rs 100. It will help a disabled man get up on his own and do something for the future of his little children? • Help a poor monk who is educating several children.

The requirements mentioned in this story have been met or changed. You can contact them directly for more information if you chose to be a part of this story. A story of a temple which is just a makeshift hut: There are several little "Samanera" monks(children) from very poor families who are learning under Polgampola Dhammaloka Thero. • They have a very hard time in getting even one meal a day. • The child monks have to sustain themselves with just plain tea for breakfast. • They go begging for food in the village nearby. • No place is available to sleep. • Sanitary facilities are almost non-existent. It is admirable how Dhammaloka Thero is staying in the poor village serving the poor villagers and educating the small children when he could come to a city to live a more easy life. The Thero himself and his students will be very grateful if you can donate them anything; be it food, stationery for education, clothes(monk robes) or any equipment. If you can help them get some mats to sleep, or complete the roof of their little hut, they can complete their education and serve the society educating more children. • Pathum wants to walk again and get a job.

There are no new updates available for this story. You can contact the subject if you want to check whether you can still be a part of this story. Click on 'Be a part of this story' below. Pathum is 20 years old. He started working for a highway construction company and could only complete just more than 2 months on the job before he met with a terrible accident. Here is how he described the accident(translated): "I don't have a fixed job description, the work I do depends on what is required to be done. In April, I was on a vehicle carrying hudge beams to construct bridges. There were four people on four corners of the carriage and two drivers manning the long vehicle. That day the sun was just above the head and the heat was too much, I accidently slipped and stepped on one of the big turning tyres of the vehicle and fell down. When I turned around I saw that the vehicle was going over my body and at the same time others shouted and got the driver to stop the vehicle. When I looked back I could not lift my legs. One leg was shattered and flesh has come out. My crew stopped a cab and took me to Tangalle hospital. From Tangalle I was transferred to Galle and then to Colombo." Now Pathum is facing a complication in his legs due to a germ which has entered his bones. He needs to be brought to Colombo for treatment. His family has no fixed income. Pathum being the eldest child in the family, who everyone was dependent on makes them even more helpless. Please be kind to help this boy get medical treatments so that he can stand up again and make a living. Parithyaga.org does not donate to or raise funds for any story published on this website.
